Common questions about container homes

How big is the home?

34 square metres, which is equal to 365 square feet. Opened out it measures 5,800 × 6,580 × 2,500 mm externally; closed for shipping it is 5,800 × 2,150 × 2,500 mm.

Is the home insulated?

Yes. Each panel has a foam core that provides insulation: 50 mm EPS (R = 1.315 m²K/W) is standard, with upgrades to 50 mm PU (R = 2.083), 75 mm PU (R = 3.125) or 50 mm Silica Rock (R = 1.25). The panelling can be selected for whichever meets your needs best. For developed countries we recommend the Silica Rock panels, and you can upgrade the panelling for better insulation in cold climates.

How much is shipping?

We recommend budgeting around USD $1,000–$2,500 for shipping to your nearest port. This price does not include customs charges and import taxes. Each expandable home ships in a 40' high-cube container, and you can fit two homes in one container.
